A Poem: The Timbre of Your Laughing Eyes

This poem was written in 2017, when I realised I fell in love.

The night is bright, a gleam in dark's deep sway

Or is it but the eve, in newborn play?

Or by chance, a whisper of springs array?

Lover, tell me

How do you turn winter's misty night

Into a summer's day, so warm and bright?

Twisting this void, from black keys to white

The blues and greys, all in colourful flight

You awake the blast of New Year's cheer

In this heart once broken, now crystal clear

Your laughter's timbre, so vividly near

Breaks through the blind, the deaf, in beautiful sheer

As if senses rebirthed from heaven's sphere

Awakening my soul to once again feel

Daring the fear of a fall, so steep

To catch the warmth it throws

And hold the memory it rose

And make it stay

Here below where each of my hair strand lies
